Winning Over Your Goliath

This is about a 12- year old girl's journey in fighting one's Goliath. Goliath is a metaphor for one's crippling fear, source of anxiety and stress. I am inviting everyone- young and old alike to join me in discovering my inner strength --- the DAVID ---in me as I battle Goliath in my everyday life. I firmly believe that our faith in God will shrink our own monsters to their true size.

About Me

Gabbie Santos
I am a dreamer, a believer and an achiever. I believe that I can defeat my Goliath by finding my inner David. It is because I believe that the battle field is not out there, it is within our heart and mind. I am the only child in the family and my parents would always tell me that the greatest gift that they could share with me is the gift of faith. As a Paulinian, I am thankful for the gift of Catholic Education. It is because I believe that schooling is more than theories and concepts. It is about touching hearts and transforming lives. I have learned to be more socially responsible because of my Paulinian education. Eventhough, I am only 12 years old I believe that I am a spiritual warrior. It is because I get my strength to carry on from God alone and not because of my own might. Without God, I can do nothing. The song that really struck me is Gary Valenciano's: The Warrior is a Child. "They don't know that I come running home when I fall down. They don't know who picks me up when no one is around. I drop my sword and cry for just awhile. 'Cause deep inside this armor the warrior is a child."
