I am but a small voice but I do believe in
battling our own Goliath. Our Goliaths
are our fears, anxieties and stressors. Our Goliaths could be anything as long
as it stunts us from living life to fullest. We are just human, but we can
still battle our fears and fight just like David did. We all have a David
inside of us. It is just waiting to be unleashed. That is why, one cannot just
sit down and wait until the David in him just comes out and be ready to
fight. Well, it does not work that way.
You have to search, know yourself and trust in God. As David was about to
battle Goliath he recited a psalm, a psalm as which we know today as Psalm 23.
Can
you believe it? David, despite of his size and built, was not going to run
away. He was not going to cry and call for someone to help him. David was very much ready to fight his
battle. He was willing to sacrifice
himself, he was willing to leave this world. It is all because he had so much
faith in God. He trusted God so much
that he walked up to that Philistine and gave his best, for God. Now that is true faith.
This
Bible passage is very inspiring and should be applied in daily life. We do not
need some giant Philistine to come up to us and challenge us to battle. We all
have Goliaths, and we can fight them and absolutely win over them if we just
put our faith in God. We just need to trust our God; that with God everything
is possible. We have to lift all our doubts and anxieties to God just like what
David did. We have to fight for our battles and what is right for God wants us
to live life to the fullest. We could be just like David—a
warrior of faith. We do not need a sword nor a bow and arrow. For the battle is
not out there but it is within us – in
our heart and mind. We need deep faith in God for faith can truly move
mountains. It is this faith that truly
motivates and pushes a warrior, not one’s sword nor one’s bow and arrow.
Look
at David, he did not have any sword nor a set of bow and arrow, all he had was
a slingshot and the greatest weapon of all – his
deep faith in God. This is the greatest
weapon a warrior could ever have—Faith.
Faith pushed him to fight this giant, faith pushed him to fight his Goliath!
This
Bible passage has really taught me to trust in God and that I should not let my
problems or doubts interfere with fulfilling my life’s dreams. We need to fight our struggles and
find our faith which would help us battle and triumph over our Goliath. God
created us not to live in fear but to live in love, hope and faith. Thus, we
should follow His plan and not let the negativity and distractions around us
become the center of our lives but we must let God be the center of our lives. May we always be reminded that we do not just
sit around and whine when we have problems.
We are supposed to face them and accept them by lifting all our doubts
and worries to the Lord. Keep in mind
that every person has a problem or a concern but remember to every Goliath,
there is a David. Once you find and unleash your inner David, you will not only
survive but you will thrive. Your inner David will allow you to soar and not
just merely fly for the battle is not against the outside world but it is
within your mind, heart and spirit.
